Pre-Entries Required: (Post marked no later than Dec 1st) Pre-Entry will open on August 20th and are due by December 1st. Pre-Entry forms must have complete rider & horse information and a minimum of 5 classes selected if you are showing for high point. If you are not showing for high point, please send the entry form with a minimum of 3 classes selected. (Horses showing in halter only may enter 1-2 classes) Exhibitors whom submit complete pre-entries with proper number of selected classes will not be charged the late rate for adding classes at the show. Parental signature required for minors. Pre-Entries must be mailed with an “open check” with signature. If you prefer to write a “closed check” for total amount due that is acceptable. Entry checks will be deposited on December 17th. (Stall payments deposited at the time of reservation) Entries received after the the post-marked deadline will be assessed at the late class rate. If you prefer to pay cash at the show, we will exchange your check for cash. Credit card payment is accepted with a 3.5% processing fee. Post-Entries for riders whom have not registered in advance will be allowed to register at the show and will be charged at the rate of $10/judge for regular classes and $10/judge for sweepstakes classes ($20 per class total) Cancelled pre-entries must be notified to the show manager by email, text, phone call or messenger no later than Wednesday prior to the show to avoid being charged for classes. Cancelled pre-entries will only be charged the $10 office fee and all other classes cancelled. Pre-Entered riders may add or drop without penalty as long as changes are notified to the show office 5 classes in advance. Stall reservation forms and Entries do not have to be mailed together. Stall Reservation Information: Stall reservations will open on August 20th. All horses must be assigned stalls and are $60 each. If you wish to arrive 1 day early on Thursday, it is $10 additional per stall with full access to the arena and wash facilities. All stalls are located in the Main Pavilion Barn. We do not sell stalls in the South Barn on the Hill due to winter safety considerations. Stall Reservations must be pre-paid and cashed at the time of reservation. Special requests will be considered on a first-come-first-served basis and are not guaranteed. If you are reserving for several individuals in one block, please send ONE Reservation for the group and include all payments in the envelope. If you need special accommodations due to a disability, please let us know in your reservation. Stall reservations do not have to be accompanied by pre-entries. In the event the stalls sell out, you will be notified and placed on a waiting list. (Reserve early, Stalls usually sell out by Thanksgiving time frame.) Checks are cashed at time of reservation. PayPal or Credit Card reserved stalls include 3.5% courtesy fee @ $2 ea. Stud panels and shavings are available for purchase from MSU for $6 per bag upon arrival. We do not accept preorders for shavings. Horses may move in after 9am Friday unless you pay for early arrival on Thursday after 9am. Horses moving in on Thursday will have full access to the indoor riding arena. The arena is open 24/7 unless classes are being held or the arena is being maintained.

Holiday ShoDown Stall Cancellation Policy: In the event you must cancel your stall prior to the show, please notify SMQH in writing no later than 10 days prior to 1st move in to receive a full refund. Refunds will be issued via the method in which they were paid. Stalls cancelled after December 4th will not be refunded. ***Inclement weather policy*** Stalls will not be refunded due to inclement weather unless the facility is directed to shut down by Michigan State University and no back up date exists. If back up date exists, your stall reservation will be held for said back up date. If the facility is shut down by MSU, 50% of Stall rate will be refunded. SMQH will issue refunds within 60 days of cancellation or event date.
Camping/Hotels/Lodging: On-Site Camping is available at the pavilion at a rate of $30 per night. Camp sites include electrical hook up and campers should note that camp space availability may be subject to the amount of snow on the ground. There are a limited number of camping spots with full service electrical and water hook-ups in the south parking lot along the white fence. “Holding/Saving” of camping spots using chairs, cones, barricades is not allowed and will be removed. All camping spots are first come-first served. Only rigs which plug into the utilities are allowed to be parked in the designated camping spaces. ONE Cord Per Spot. HOTELS: There are several hotels in the surrounding area of East Lansing and Okemos. When making your reservation at any of the local hotels, be sure to request the “Pavilion Rate.” Visitors Bureau
High Point Awards: High Point Awards Awards are calculated per horse/rider combination. Division Highpoint Division awards are calculated based using only the points earned in a riders given division and do not include sweepstakes classes or open/fun classes. Overall Champion Awards Prizes will be awarded for Overall and Reserve Overall Champions. Overall Champion Awards are calculated based on all classes on the showbill which the horse/rider combination is eligible to compete including division classes, open classes, fun classes and sweepstakes classes . Many classes are “double pointed” for the Overall Champion Awards and are indicated on the showbill with a “++”. Points are earned for first through eighth place per judge. All of the classes are double judged at the Holiday Show. For example, in a class with 15 horses, 1st place under 1 judge is worth 8 points and 8th place under 1 judge is worth 1 point. If a class has less than 8 horses, the maximum number of points earned for first place is equal to the number of horses in the class. Lets say you earn a 2nd & 5th place in Halter class, that is worth 11 points total. For classes marked “++” double pointed, each judge’s placings are doubled, therefore the same placing of 2nd & 5th would be worth 22 points.
MSU Concessions will be open all weekend.
